At First Steps Pregnancy Support, we believe that birth and parenting education should be accessible to everyone and that women should be well informed as they approach birth and motherhood.
As a multidisciplinary team of professionals, First Steps Birthing has developed a comprehensive and informative birth and parenting education program to ensure that you begin motherhood feeling capable and confident.
WHEN:
Part 1: Labour and Birth
Monday evenings - November 4, 11 and 18
6.30pm - 8.30pm
Attendance at all three is required for full Labour and Birth course content.
Part 2: Post Partum
Saturday November 23
9am - 4pm
Focus is post partum - feeding, settling, mental health, first aid and more.

BIRTH

BREASTFEEDING
the first few hours; benefits to maternal & infant health/wellbeing; techniques & positions; troubleshooting; managing mastitis; adjuncts to breastfeeding
BABY
the 4th trimester; adjusting to life outside the womb; normal variations in needs & patterns; normal worries; when your baby is sick; first aid for babies
BEYOND
mental health for Mums and Dads; self care; protecting your relationship; parenting beyond the newborn phase; bonding
