We are so grateful for the many people who made this possible. To Ian Wholahan from The Business Builder and his team of tradies for their tireless efforts to get everything done to schedule, and for Ian’s generosity with time and finance to help keep our costs manageable. To Andrew and Jeremy Snowdon from About Windows for the front signage they designed and installed for us at no cost – it is a bright and welcoming street presence that will help women find us. To AbbasYarbakhsh from Professional Paint Perfection for his long days of work to ensure the job was done on time with very tight time frames. And to Nathan De Rooy from Canberra Car Keys for sorting out all our locking needs on his day off and also at no cost. The generosity in time and goods/services has been an absolute blessing. Significant donations from several community organisations and especially the grant we received from John James Foundation have made the renovations of the property and payment of ongoing costs possible and we are so grateful.
We have had so much help setting up the place and many generous donations of finance and useful items from our community of individual supporters. These include a coffee machine, mugs, sandwich press, kettle/toaster, projector, laptops, and printers as well as finance to purchase beautiful furniture and other essentials.
Thank you to each of you who have played a part in this journey. We will have an opening event in February (keep an eye out for more details soon!) and would love you to come and have a look at the space you have helped to create. We are thankful to have had so much local support to help get us to this stage! We are ready to open our doors and celebrate First Steps Pregnancy Support as a focal point in the community for pregnant women in need.
